Stone Farm Flowers #1
I am obsessed with botanicals: plants and growing things of all kinds. Because of this, my haunts include the forests, fields, and intertidal pools of Essex County. It also includes the farm stands and greenhouses, which I wander in, seeking the diffuse light that comes through old glass and plastic. At Old Stone Farm in Byfield, I came upon the light of early evening illuminating the long-legged Dahlias inside the greenhouse, giving the appearance of the flowers floating in fog. This is an archival digital photograph, printed on Canson PhotoSatin to achieve a luminous quality. It is matted in archival rag matte, and under conservation glass, is framed in a natural blonde maple frame.
